Our clients wished to extend their home in Blean, near Canterbury, to meet the changing needs of their family. They wanted to re-organise the first floor and extend over the existing garage to give a new master bedroom, two new en-suites and a family bathroom. They also wished to add a stunning new dining room with a vaulted ceiling on the ground floor, with glazed doors opening into the garden that can be used in the summer for dinner parties. The ground floor alterations also provided a new utility space and bin store, putting some unused garage space to good use.

Louisa and Adam provided an excellent service overall. We were particularly pleased with the design process, during which Louisa came up with lots of good ideas, both for the interior spaces we wished to create and the exterior look of the house in its surroundings. The resulting design achieved all we had wanted for practical use and exceeded our expectations aesthetically. During the building process they were always available for advice and fine tuning of the design as the build progressed. They were fair and effective negotiators in managing the contract between ourselves and the builders. In addition they were friendly and easy to communicate with. Building work on one’s home is inevitably messy and inconvenient but seeing Spacemaker’s designs become reality was an enjoyable experience! We are delighted with the results of our building project and we highly recommend Spacemaker Architects.
Christopher and Melinda chose Blean Village Hall’s Raise the Roof Campaign as the beneficiary of their £40 donation for their initial consultation with us.
